Notes on ingredients for mixed berry mousse
Linseeds
Are you looking for a way to make your vegan desserts even more satisfying and healthy? Look no further than linseeds!
Not only do they expand in liquids, making them perfect for thickening sauces and creating a smooth, creamy texture in dishes like this recipe for mixed berry mousse, but they're also a powerhouse of nutrition.
In my mixed berry mousse recipe, linseeds have been milled or ground to ensure a silky smooth texture and proper setting. But don't stop there! Keep linseeds on hand as a kitchen staple for all kinds of recipes.
Why? Linseeds are loaded with vegan omega-3 fatty acids and fibre. They're excellent for your digestive health and will help keep you feeling full for longer.
So go ahead, indulge in a delicious and healthy dessert with linseeds as the secret ingredient. Your taste buds and body will thank you!
Berries
Feel free to use one type of berry instead of a mixture for this mixed berry mousse recipe; just be sure to use the same quantity as the recipe states. I used frozen cherries, raspberries, and blackberries.
Coconut milk
I always use coconut milk that has no gums or carrageen, which is extremely questionable. If you suffer from gut problems, IBS, or inflammation, please steer away from these additives. The coconut milk I used for this recipe for mixed berry mousse is this brand which I got from amazon. I also recommend checking out well easy, its an online health food store at discounted prices. Use my code KAM10 at the checkout for £10 off your first order of £50.
NB: if you have a nut allergy check that coconuts are ok for you to consume.
